Cheshvan—The 8th Hebrew Month of 5781

A Season of New Beginnings
"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See I do a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? (Isaiah 43:18/19)
1. The month of Manasseh (to forget, to leap up and away). Just like the meaning of Manasseh’s name (“I am now past; I can forget the former suffering” [Gen. 41:51]). We should carry forward with us what was emphasized at Tabernacles. God wants us to experience the following: 1) increase; 2) being filled with the Holy Spirit and flowing out to others; 3) expectation of revival and harvest; 4) a life of joy, peace, and love; 5) understanding that we are a dwelling place for Him. We may have to ask the Lord to help us completely forget and discard some old memories that want to rise up and hold us back.
2. Genesis "In the beginning": God said, "Let there be light": God separates the Light from the darkness otherwise it leaves confusion. He separates the waters from the waters. God is calling us to be "salt and light". A teardrop is both "salt and light". It reflects the world, an infinity of love when we pray with tears. If we look deeply we will see the face of God in our tears. "He catches our tears in a bottle". Ps:56:8
3. God is calling us to take responsibility for our own actions unlike Adam and Eve who blamed others. Adam says to God, "The woman You gave me, gave me the fruit and I did eat"! and Eve says, "The serpent deceived me and I did eat"! Gen: 3:12 We also have a moral responsibility towards each other. Cain did not deny killing Able but answered "Am I my brother's keeper?" Yes we are! (Gen: 4:9) "Might" is Not "Right". We cannot build a righteous Nation on the shed blood of the innocent. Stand in the gap for Canada and repent for the shedding of innocent blood in our land. Prov:6:17
4. This is the month that Noah’s flood began. (It lasted a year and ten days, but began during this month.) We may see a flood moving in our circumstances. If so, it may be a sign indicating we have some issues that need to be dealt with. Ask the Lord to make those issues clear and then deal with them.
5. A month reserved for receiving anointing: It falls like gentle rain like the dew on the grass. One of the surest ways of receiving anointing is to rest in the presence of the Lord, which is what the Feast of Tabernacles was all about—living in His presence. This does not mean there will not be times of testing. Jesus was anointed by His Father when the Holy Spirit came on Him at his water baptism. He then had to go into the wilderness where he was tested for forty days. Don’t be surprised at testing. Stay in joy, knowing the Lord is using those circumstances to increase the anointing and work it deeper in us. (James 1:12)
6. Without a new anointing, Satan can gain an upper hand. God doesn’t want us to see this as “the same old problem and I can’t change.” No, we can easily get new anointing to put our heel on the enemy’s plan to use those old strongholds against us. Like Paul did in 1 Corinthians 2:1–5 , we must be careful to walk in the anointing and not carelessly.
7. A month to deal with hardships, trials, and tribulations. This is why the Lord is emphasizing anointing. We cannot deal with these things by ourselves. We need His help, His power, and His anointing. Thus, let our pain transform us into something usable for God’s plan for our lives. We are not exempt from bad times, but we can be transformed by the renewing of our minds (Rom. 12:1–2). But if we are of the world, all we can do is conform. However, we have the power and blood of Jesus flowing through us so we can be transformed.
8. Therefore, whenever we notice something negative in us(e.g., envy, bitterness, complaining, self-seeking) (James 3:13–16). Confess it and reject it, and take it to the Lord. The anointing will rise up and help us. Be diligent to keep giving those negative things to the Lord. We will find ourselves being transformed. We don’t want to be like Moses whose stronghold of anger resulted in his not entering the Promised Land. (Moses was born during this month.)
9. A month of connecting with our roots. "In the Beginning" Go to the remembrance of First Mention when something hurts or disappoints us in our childhood. . We will need to deal with root issues; it’s a time for deliverance.
10. The month of fragrance: During this month, the soul responds in unusual ways. Smell affects the soul, not just the body. The fragrance of God can permeate the soulish nature and change us and those around us (2 Cor. 2:14–16) Breathe in the fragrance of the Lord, like refreshing rain after a dry summer and be transformed. Worship is a fragrant offering to the Lord.
11. The myrrh or myrtle month. The myrtle tree is very fragrant and can symbolize prophetic promise. Isaiah 55:13 states, “Instead of the briar shall come up the myrtle tree.” Thus, it’s a month to smell the awe of God. Ask the Lord that every “briar” circumstance would instead become a “myrtle.”
12. You will begin to really see colors. This month’s color is violet, which often stands for passion for God. Passion helps us to receive revelation that can move us into a supernatural state. Begin to move in a new level of passion.
13. The month of the constellation Scorpio, the snake of Eden. The enemy wants to release strategies to hinder us. So this may be a time of struggle. But remember that Jesus trampled on the snake. We can and must do the same (Rom. 16:20) (Gen: 3:15b) Remember Ernie's teaching on this on Saturday 17 October, how Satan will try to deceive us. It is written, "Even the very elect will be deceived". Pray that God would not let you be deceived.
14. The month of Hebrew letter nun (נ). This letter looks like a boundary. The Lord’s light will reach our farthest boundaries. We will see that our boundaries/destinies are greater than our human thinking may have allowed us, but also how to solve long-standing problems. Jabez Prayer (1 Chronicles 4:10) "Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm so that it might not bring me pain". And God granted what he asked." This is our prayer for Ahava Life Centre, for Sapphires Society outreach, for Healing Rooms, for Uganda Medical Missions and Lydia Intercessory Prayer Fellowship - "Enlarge our borders O God". Amen.
15. It is the month of fine digestion: There is an ability to digest and assimilate even difficult things that the Lord wants us to understand. A month of revelation. The books of Deuteronomy and Revelation go hand in hand. Stay in the Word. Thy Torah is a lamp unto our feet and a LIGHT unto our path. The Torah (The first 5 books of Moses) is a lamp unto our feet and Jesus is the Light. Jesus is the Word and He is the Light of the World. If we reject the Torah, The Word, then we are rejecting Jesus.
16. A month that you have to war with words. Stay positive. Speak words of encouragement over yourself and others. Again, this was Pastor Ernie's teaching on Saturday. This will push out the negative from our innermost being, where ill-spoken words can reside. (Perhaps we will find stomach problems being healed—they often occur because of receiving and believing wrong words.) Declaring we are content will result in an overflow of the Holy Spirit in our innermost being. This will result in an increase of anointing to help push out that negative. (1 Cor. 2:1–5).
